If you're looking for a fun-filled, exciting and educational day out for your school this year - Then Dún na Sí is the place to be.
Take a trip back in time on our Heritage Trail and meet some legends along the way, or explore wild nature in our Parkland, spotting different species from our specially constructed bird-hide. At our Scéal exhibition, learn about the story of Irish music song and dance from the time of the Celts right up to Riverdance, or if you'd like something a little more active, then an orienteering adventure can be arranged. We also have green areas for playing football and other games, a playground and a fabulous Pet Farm. We have a Picnic Area if you want to bring a packed lunch, a great Coffee Shop and refreshments will be provided for all hardworking teachers accompanying the tour!
Below you can see an outline of our School Tour options. However we can arrange a tour package to suit individual requirements and will be happy to devise a personalised tour for your school depending on how much time you want to spend and how much fun you want to have!
Tour 1 - Junior Orienteering & Heritage Trail Tour (approx 2hrs 10mins)
One of our most popular tours, our Junior Orienteering activity is based on Photo Star Orienteering and takes place in our Amenity Park. It is an exciting experience suitable for junior classes in Primary School. The tour starts with a nature walk in our 27 acre Amenity Park to familiarise students with some of the more notable features of the park. Students are then broken up into smaller teams and will challenged to find letters hidden behind some of these objects with the help of photos. This is a really interactive, fun team event. Students are encouraged to work and stay in their teams to complete the course. After a short break the students will then be brought on our Heritage Trail tour where they can experience life for farmers in rural Ireland long ago. Students will also have unlimited time in our Amenity Park and Playground.
Tour 2 - Senior Orienteering & Heritage Trail Tour (approx 2hrs 30mins)
