A Virtual Visit to Dún na Sí!
Dún na Sí Amenity and Heritage Park have launched an exciting new video project which allows a virtual visit to their Heritage Park at a time when we cannot visit in person! At a time when the Heritage Park is closed to visitors, the Dún na Sí video project shows engaging demonstrations by invited specialist craftspeople, who re-enact the activities that would have taken place in the Park’s historic buildings in the past.
In a series of six videos, a craftsperson or historical re-enactor presents the making of a craft or activity within one of Dún na Sí’s reconstructed historic buildings. The videos include demonstrations of straw and rush craft, wool spinning, medieval life and objects, and the work of the blacksmith. The new videos and website were created in collaboration with Studio 93 Creative Agency, and were kindly supported by an Audience Engagement Grant by the Department of Culture, Heritage, and the Gaeltacht.
We hope that these videos will provide some new opportunities for people to experience the uniqueness of the Park at a time when they cannot visit in person! Watch the videos here.
