Travel Guidance

Dún na Sí Amenity & Heritage Park is located in Moate, Co. Westmeath, just 15 minutes from Athlone. It is easily accessible by car, bus and bike.

🚗 By Car:

  • From Dublin: Take exit 6 off the motorway and take the third exit off the first roundabout. Continue on straight at the second roundabout, then take the first exit off the 3rd roundabout. Continue through Moate town. When approaching the end of the town (towards the traffic calming/boundary section), take a right. Follow this road over the railway tracks, taking the next left after these into the park’s entrance, which will be signposted.
  • From Galway: Take exit 7 off the motorway and turn left at the T Junction, following the sign for Moate. On entering the Moate town limits, take the first left, and follow this road over the railway tracks, taking the next left after these into the park’s entrance, which will be signposted.
  • Accessible parking bays near entrances.

🚆 By Train: Nearest station Athlone, with onward bus/taxi connections.

🚌 By Bus: Bus Eireann and Citylink run hourly buses between Dublin and Galway, which stop off in Moate. Dún na Sí Heritage and Amenity Park is a short 20 minute walk from the bus stop.
